Hsg xray (checking tubes blockage) in Nairobi
Product Details
HSG stands for Hysterosalpingography, a special X-ray procedure using contrast dye to check the shape of the uterus and see if fallopian tubes are open, crucial for diagnosing infertility or repeat miscarriages by revealing blockages or structural issues. It involves injecting dye through the cervix, and doctors watch its flow to assess the reproductive organs.

What it's for

Infertility evaluation: Detects blocked fallopian tubes, a common cause of infertility.

Uterine problems: Checks the shape of the uterine cavity for abnormalities or scarring.

Miscarriage investigation: Helps find uterine issues contributing to recurrent miscarriages.

What to expect

Procedure: You lie on an X-ray table as a doctor uses a catheter to inject dye into your uterus, taking X-rays as the dye fills the cavity and tubes.

Sensation: Mild to moderate cramping, similar to menstrual cramps, for a few minutes to hours.

Aftercare: Expect some sticky discharge and light spotting; avoid intercourse, tampons, and douching for 24-48 hours.

Hsg is done on 10tg day of periods
